OFFICE MANAGER
Michelle Guild

Ms. Guild obtained her degree for Office Administration at the New Hampshire Vocational Technical College. She has been working in dealing with all aspects of accounting and customer service since 1990. Ms. Guild came to Andrews University to work on her B.A. in Religion. In August 2002, she joined our program as the center's Office Manager. Ms. Guild is popular with the children and has a genuine care and affection for them.







CLASSROOMS' STAFFING
Ann Marquez

Ms. Marquez obtained an Associate Degree specializing in Early Childhood Education at Lake Michigan College. She has been working in the Early Childhood Education field since 1982. Her past experience directing a church daycare center has been an asset to our program.



INFANTS
Head Teacher
Gwenette Thacker

Gwenette earned her B.S. in Home Economics Education at the University of Techonology in Jamaica. She taught high school for eighteen years and elementary school for seven years. She also worked as a nurse's assistant for two years. In 2001, Gwenette received ACE awards for "Patience Extreme" and "Quick Response" from the Fayette County Board of Education. She raised three children of her own and four other children. Gwenette became part of our team of workers at the Crayon Box in January 2004.













Assistant Teacher
Melanie Bullock

Melanie obtained a Nurses Aide degree at the Southwestern Michigan College in Michigan. During the school year 2002-2003 Melanie worked as a teacher's aide for an Element ary School in Berrien Springs assisting with lesson plans, and tutoring Special Ed students. Melanie became part of our staff on August 2005.





YOUNG TODDLERS

Charlene Starlin

Charlene obtained her B.S. Degree in Home Economics at Andrews University. She raised three children of her own. Charlene has been working in child care for Andrews University since 1982.




YOUNGER TODDLERS
Assistant Teacher
Carala Willis

Carala has been working in daycare since 1992.She started as a substitute teacher, and worked so wonderfully with children of all ages that, on October 1993, she was invited to be part of our full time staff as assistant teacher for the toddlers room.



OLDER TODDLERS

Stephanie Jane Tilly

Stephanie obtained her B.S. in Family Studies from Andrews University on May 2003. She also studied abroad at Colegio Adventista de Sagunto, Spain. Currently, Stephanie is working on her Early Childhood Education Degree from Lake Michigan College and in the process of getting a certification as a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) thorugh the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR). She began working with children in 1998 when she was hired by our program as a teacher's aide. Stephanie became a full-time staff for the Crayon Box on August 2004.












PRE-SCHOOL
Head Teacher
Rita Tan

Rita has been teaching in our program since September 1991. She acquired a B.S. degree in Education at the Southeast Asia Union College in Singapore. Her experience as a taacher prior to coming to the Andrews University Children's Learning Center has been that of a Teacher for Grades two, three and five, and Music teacher for Preschoolers.




PRE-SCHOOL
Assistant Teacher
Shirley Lehmann

Shirley has experienced working with children since 1964. She started working for the "Crayon Box" as a substitute teacher, and worked so wonderful with the children, parents and staff, that she was invited to be part of our full time team on July 1998. Shirley is a very dedicated, loving teacher. She is loved and respected by the children and parents enrolled in our center.




PRE-KINDERGARTEN
Head Teacher
Lily Vajdic

Lily obtained her degrees in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Education for the Developmentally Disabled at Humber College of Applied Arts and Sciences in Canada. Lily has been working in the Early Childhood Education field since 1977. She has been part of our full time staff since 1993.
